Shelly Fire In Siskiyou County Grows To Over 9200 Acres

The Shelly Fire, which started last Wednesday near Shelly Lake in the Marble Mountains Wilderness of Siskiyou County, has now burned 9,234 acres, still with no containment. One person has been injured. Evacuation orders and warnings are affecting about 3,000 people. That fire is being fought by both Cal-Fire and the Forest Service, with 2,461 personnel on scene with nearly 200 engines, 57 dozers and 49 water tenders.

The Bogus Fire near little Bogus Creek in Northern Siskiyou County is 40% contained after burning 411 acres.

The North Fire in Modoc County has not expanded after burning 4,389 acres of Sageland. It’s now 65% contained.

A fire near Covelo in Northern Mendocino County has burned 98 acres and is 60% contained

A fire near Crazy Horse Ridge west of Corning burned two acres on Wednesday.
