A citizens committee will consider a proposal to peep on Shasta County voters. The Citizens Election Advisory Committee is made up of 5 unpaid members of the community, each of them appointed by a different Supervisor. They are unable to take actions but may make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. At a meeting set for 2 o’clock Monday afternoon the Committee will consider recommending that surveillance cameras be installed at ballot drop box locations prior to the March 5th Primary Election. They’ll also consider recommendations about changing the number of drop boxes and their locations.
