Southbound Interstate 5 traffic was delayed for most of the night after 3 big rig crashes near Vollmers north of Lakehead in the Sacramento River Canyon. One of the tractor-trailers was hauling coffee beans, another was hauling canned goods and the other was hauling printers. The crash happened shortly after 6 O’clock Tuesday night. Injuries were minor. The wreckage blocked all southbound lanes and, though traffic was getting through near the center divider, the backup was severe. The fast lane reopened a little after 4AM and the slow lane reopened shortly after 5AM.
