Redding Police say a Shingletown man led them on a chase in a stolen car Tuesday morning. Officers spotted the Dodge Challenger that had been reported stolen and they tried to stop it but the driver fled. The pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns but CHP Air Operations continued to track the car from above until it was abandoned at Willis and Gold Streets. Officers caught up with 32-year-old Robert Croninmills and arrested him without a fight. He was booked into jail for car theft, felony reckless evading and driving under the influence of drugs. Croninmills was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.
