Subway Closes 18 Local Restaurants Without Notifying Employees

Subway Sandwich employees have apparently been left high and dry by a Redding based franchisee after the sudden closure of 18 Subway shops from Redding to Willows to Shasta Lake City. Some employees say they received no warning and no notice prior to the shutdown on Thursday. Some say their paychecks have bounced, but they can’t apply for unemployment because they were not technically fired or laid off. Some of the employees are discussing filing a class action lawsuit. The restaurants are all currently listed online as “temporarily closed”.
