Sammy Salmon wraps up the Sundial Riffle Raffle this Saturday with a party at the Sundial Bridge. Over the course of more than 3 decades, Redding East Rotary has raised over $5 Million through the Sundial Riffle Raffle and its predecessor, the Ducky Derby. All the funds benefit local youth programs and substance abuse prevention. Nearly all the tickets are sold by young people, and the organizations they represent keep 100% of the proceeds. That funding structure has not changed, though the event itself has changed. The Riffle Raffle will culminate with a festival at the Sundial Bridge Saturday from 11AM to 3PM. That’s when “Sammy Salmon” will choose the winning tickets. Prizes include $5,000 cash, a Holiday Harbor 16-sleeper houseboat vacation, courtside tickets for the Golden State Warriors, a 6-person Sacramento River rafting trip, and a Topaz Bracelet from Devons Jeweler.
