Sunrise Ceremony Will Honor Those Killed On Anniversary Of The September 11th Attacks

Wednesday marks the 23th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 Al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on the United States, marked locally with a sunrise ceremony at the giant American Flag on North Bechelli Lane in Redding to honor the victims and heroic first responders of that terrible day. The event was organized by the Enterprise Lions, the keepers of the flag, and Redding Fire Department. The MC’s this year will be Don and Heather from the K-Shasta Morning Show. The public is invited, and is advised to arrive by 6:30AM.

There will also be a memorial ceremony and candlelight vigil Wednesday evening at the Shasta Lake City 9/11 Memorial on Ashby Court at Shasta Dam Boulevard, where there’s a piece of steel from the World Trade Center on display. That event will be from 6PM to 8PM.
