Update: Board Unanimously Votes To Withdraw Offer To Street For County CEO

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors has rescinded its offer to Chriss Street for the County Executive Officer Position. He had been offered the job by the board pending a background check. A decision was delayed during last week’s meeting because Street needed to answer to some questions emerging from that background check. During closed session Thursday the board voted unanimously to withdraw the offer. They did not give any reason for the decision. Public comment has weighed heavily against the hiring of Street. During the same closed session the board voted to extend an offer to a different candidate who had already interviewed for the job. There were seven candidates interviewed by the board and an ad hoc committee.
