The Shasta County Board of Supervisors will consider a health care consulting contract with a controversial figure. In December the board asked staff to review candidates who could consult on the shortage of healthcare options in the county. CEO David Rickert is recommending a contract of up to $40,000 with Chriss Street. Two years ago the Board of Supervisors offered, and then rescinded, an offer of the CEO job to Chriss Street. Within hours, he was saying a devastating financial crisis was facing the county due to low budget reserves and top-heavy county salaries. Street is a transplant from Southern California, where he campaigned for a split of the state.
