Thursday night at 5:30PM the Shasta County Board of Supervisors has a busy agenda as they hold their final meeting of the year, and the last meeting before three of them are replaced by newly elected supervisors next month. Incoming District 4 Supervisor Matt Plummer defeated Patrick Jones in the Spring and incoming District 2 Supervisor Alan Long came out on top of a 4 way race to replace Tim Garmin, after redistricting left Garmin’s home in a different district, disqualifying him. Incoming District 3 Supervisor Corkey Harmon beat Mary Rickert in a November runoff. Kevin Crye and Chris Kelstrom are still serving their terms. Thursday night the board will vote on a renewed four year contract for County Executive Officer David Rickert, maintaining his current salary of $24,352 per month. Other agenda items include presentations on how to spend Tens of Millions of Dollars in big pharma opioid settlement funds, and a proposal to spend $2 Million on body-worn cameras for Sheriff’s Deputies.
