Supervisors To Host Special Meeting On Changing County Strucutre After Inaccurate Wording

An item on the Shasta County Board of Supervisors will be moved to a special meeting set for Tuesday afternoon. The proposal by Supervisor Kevin Crye would change Shasta County’s Government structure from a Genera Law County to a Charter County. It’s focused on a single provision, which would allow supervisors to appoint a replacement if a vacancy opens on the board. The change would have to be approved by voters in March. That’s the same ballot that will ask District One voters if Kevin Crye should be recalled. The item was pulled from the regular agenda because a technical error caused inaccurate wording, so it’s set for a meeting at 3 O’clock Tuesday.
