Supervisors Vote 3 To 2 To Suspend Building Impact Fees

There was a lively and lengthy discussion during a public hearing Tuesday on the Shasta County Board of Supervisors decision to suspend, and eventually eliminate, new development impact fees. Since 2008 the fees have provided $8.7 Million in funding for projects which otherwise would be paid for by the General Fund. Supervisors Mary Rickert and Tim Garmin again urged the board to do more research, but the final vote to codify the decision was again passed by a 3 to 2 vote.
