Supervisors Will Consider Drafting Letters To Trump & Newsom On Fire Insurance & Wildfire Risk

Two letters will be considered by the Shasta County Board of Supervisors concerning wildfire risk and uninsurability of rural residents. One letter is an appeal to President Trump to streamline the approval process for vegetation management on federal lands. The other is an appeal to Governor Newsom for a moratorium on insurance policy cancellations, an income tax deduction for insurance premiums and an expansion of the state’s high-risk insurance market system.
