Suspect Remains At Large 6 Months After Deadly Shooting In Gerber

A man who was believed to be involved in a deadly shooting in Gerber six months ago is still being sought by the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. A half hour after Midnight May 31st Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to a home on Ventura Avenue in Gerber. 3 men had arrived earlier in the evening and were smoking Methamphetamine with the homeowner, according to the Sheriff’s Office. For reasons that are still unclear, there was a lengthy exchange of gunfire during which one man was killed. 21-year-old Osbaldo Rodriguez and 28-year-old Jaime Enedina Zamora both fled. Rodriguez had been hit with several bullets, and as he ran out he fired shots back through the doorway, injuring the homeowner. A short time later Rodriguez was at Red Bluff River Park, claiming he had been shot by a stranger at the park. He was sentenced last month to 3 years in prison. Zamora is still at large, and detectives are appealing to the public to help find him. He’s considered dangerous and possibly armed and should not be approached.
