TCSO and Charities Step Up For Fire Survivors

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office has been providing escorts for people who need to feed, water and/or evacuate animals that were left behind in the rush to evacuate. Residents must provide proof and are allowed 15 or 20 minutes to complete the necessary tending. Escorts are not provided for recovering items or evaluating damage. Appointments can be made after 7:30am at (530) 529-7940.

Charitable organizations have been stepping up for survivors. The California Fire Foundation has provided more than $85,000 worth of $250 cash cards, which are being administered by Northern Valley Catholic Social Services. A lot of relief services can be found by calling 2-1-1, which is run by the United Way of Northern California.
