Teen Charged After Death of Passenger in Alleged DUI Crash

A teenager was arrested on felony DUI charges after the death of a passenger in his wrecked car, according to Redding Police. The crash happened shortly after midnight Saturday night on Buenaventura Boulevard near Teton Drive. When Redding Fire personnel got there the car was in the middle of the road fully engulfed in flames. One passenger who was ejected was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital. Another passenger, 20-year-old Hunter Alexander, was uninjured. The driver, 19-year-old Cristian Michael Bennett, was booked into jail on a half million dollars bail for vehicular manslaughter and other charges.
