A young woman on an electric bicycle was struck by a car in South Redding Thursday morning. At 8:30AM, Redding Police say 19-year-old Victoria Holland was riding across Highway 273 westbound at South Bonnyview toward Cedars Road when she was broadsided by a car driven by 64-year-old Denise Johnson. The Redding Police Traffic Division says Holland was riding against a red light and Johnson, who was southbound on the highway, did not see the bike in the roadway until it was too late. Holland was thrown from the bike. She was not wearing a helmet and she was transported to Mercy Hospital with moderate injuries. Highway 273 was closed by police as they conducted their investigation.
