The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office and Red Bluff Police have been focusing on busting suspected gang members following the September 13th murder of a 16-year-old boy that was believed to be gang related. Three teens are in custody for that killing. 19-year-old Nathon Olney Reep is charged with first degree murder, as is 17-year-old Blake Michael Bush. Both of them will be in court Tuesday and the DA’s Office will ask that Bush be charged as an adult. It’s not yet known if the other defendant, 15-year-old Ryan Scott Piper, will be charged as an adult as well. An expanded crackdown of gang activity has led to the unrelated arrests of suspected Nortenos gang members Samuel Cox and Gabriel Sanchez for possession of ghost guns and Gustavo Mejia for warrants.
