A large illegal outdoor cannabis grow site was busted last week by the Tehama County Sheriff’s Department. Located in the northwestern area of the county, the cultivation was apparently linked to what’s described as an organized drug trafficking group. 5,419 plants were seized and hazardous chemicals were being used that endangered area wildlife and streams. The Sheriff’s Office used their helicopter in the operation. It proved useful in tracking a suspect who ran away through the woods and was captured by deputies on the ground.
