Siskiyou County officials are warning about dangerous conditions at two reservoirs along the Klamath River. Deep thick mud at Iron Gate and Copco Reservoirs has been known to trap animals. Sometimes people try to help free livestock and wild animals from the grip of the mud, and they end up getting stuck themselves. Anyone who encounters such a situation is encouraged to stay away and call California Fish and Wildlife Wardens at 225-2300. The process of dam removal is underway on the Lower Klamath and it’s going to be a river in transition for a while.
