Think Pink Day is Thursday of next week. Think Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness is a concept that has swept the nation, and it was born right here in Redding 27 years ago. It’s now promoted in venues that range from Nascar to Pro Rodeo to Major League Baseball and the NFL. The push for awareness of early detection is largely credited for an astounding 98% survival rate when caught early, making it one of the most curable forms of cancer. On Think Pink Day, bags are handed out containing educational information and souvenirs designed to spread the message of early detection through self examinations and mammograms. Volunteers are needed Tuesday the 10th to stuff the bags. Volunteers can call (530) 710-4320 or email mwthinkpink@gmail.com. Saturday is the Battle of the Bags Cornhole Tournament at Big League Dreams. Details are on the Think Pink Facebook page.
