Some robbers in Trinity County got the better of their victim by appealing to his kindness and fear for his family. At 6:40 Monday evening a white man, a Hispanic man and a black man knocked on the victims’ door off of Highway 3 near Weaverville and said their pickup truck was out of gas. The victim offered to help and was assaulted and tied up. As his family was threatened, the victim revealed that his money was hidden at a storage unit. He was placed in the bed of the truck and taken to the storage unit. After getting the cash the robbers fled. The truck, which was white or silver and an unknown make, was last seen eastbound on Highway 299.
