An alcohol minor decoy operation was recently done by Anderson Police. An underaged person working with police went into 8 different retail stores and tried to buy alcoholic drinks. The purchases were successful at five of the stores and the cashiers were cited. Redding Police also did an alcohol sting Thursday, visiting 18 businesses. Only a clerk at the AM/PM on Lake Boulevard agreed to make the sale. The clerks in both stings will face a minimum $250 fine and up to 32 hours of community service for a first violation. The State Office of Alcoholic Beverage Control also could punish the business with a fine, and/or a suspension or revocation of their alcohol license.
