Two firefighters were injured fighting a fire in a former hospital building Saturday morning. The building located at South A Street and Eugene Avenue was fully involved when firefighters arrived. It was unsafe for firefighters to enter and firefighters had to fight if from a defensive stance. Multiple agencies were called to help fight the fire including Dunsmuir, Castella, and Cal-Fire. The cause is under investigation.
