Two Los Molinos Residents Killed In Head-On Crash On Highway 99

Two people were killed in a head-on collision Saturday afternoon on Highway 99 in Southeastern Tehama County near the Butte County line. Just before 3PM, a 2015 BMW driven by 67-year-old Celeste Young, with 82-year-old Marilyn Fitzgerald as a passenger, was southbound on 99 south of Champlin Slough. 54-year-old James Hartley was northbound in a Ford Ranger and, for unknown reasons, crossed over the center line into the path of the BMW. Both drivers were killed, while Fitzgerald suffered major injuries. All three were from Los Molinos. The CHP says alcohol was not a factor.
