Redding Police have reported on a large drug bust they made last Tuesday morning. At 4am a car was pulled over near Highway 44 and Interstate 5 occupied by two men from Washington state. Officers say Luis Corona-Ceja and Alisandro Perez-Garcia were obviously nervous. The car was searched, reportedly turning up 5 kilos –which is 11 pounds- of cocaine and fentanyl. Both men were booked into jail.
A large fentanyl bust was made by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon. Deputies made a stop for a traffic violation on northbound Interstate Five and Kilo the K9 was used to sniff around. He signaled the presence of drugs so the car was searched, allegedly revealing 4.56 pounds –more than two kilos- of fentanyl. 42-year-old Gustavo Torres-Loaiza and 34-year-old Perla Lopez, of Chula Vista and Oxnard, were booked into jail on bail of $500,000 each.
