Redding Electric Utility will start a project on Monday to replace underground power lines, which they say will improve reliability and reduce outages. The infrastructure modernization is being done along the south side of Hilltop Drive west of Interstate 5, and is expected to take two weeks. Traffic control will be in effect throughout the project.
Another underground utility project starting Monday is being done by PG&E on the other side of the freeway. A contractor will be replacing gas main along Canby, Browning and Gabriel Streets. Traffic control will be in effect for that project as well, which may last until June 17th.
