Update: 5 Injured In Downtown Shooting

Five people were injured when shots were fired inside a Downtown Redding bar Thursday night. At 11:23PM Redding Police and medical personnel were called to Cedar Crest Brewery on Placer Street between California and Market. Responding officers saw two men running from the scene, and 21-year-old Zeth Turnbaugh was quickly captured. With help from a CHP helicopter an extensive search was done and 22-year-old Thor Turnbaugh, who was apparently the shooter, was found near Locust Avenue and Canal Drive. He reportedly resisted and was taken into custody with the help of Duke the K9. After a hospital visit he was booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge. Detectives say Thor and Zeth had gotten into a fight with other patrons at Cedar Crest, during which Thor pulled a gun from his waistband and fired a round, then pointed the gun at several people as the two left the bar. He then allegedly fired multiple rounds from the outside. A bar employee suffered a grazing bullet wound to his leg and four customers were struck by broken glass or shrapnel. All the injuries were minor. Witnesses are asked to contact RPD Detectives at 225-4200.
