The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has identified a mountain bicyclist who died on a trail west of Walker Mine Road as 50-year-old Noe Puente of Pharr, Texas. Around midday Friday two mountain bikers on the Hornbeck Trail came upon Puente on the ground unresponsive. One of them attempted CPR but Puente could not be revived. Deputies had to ride ATV’s two miles in to reach the site. The Sheriff’s Office says there were no signs of foul play.
