The Coroners Office has identified a woman killed in a crash near the Eastern Shasta County Town of McArthur as 50-year-old Rebecca Shawn Estess. At 6:35PM Friday evening, the CHP responded to Day Road north of Iris Road. They say a 1997 Ford was northbound at an excessive speed when it left the pavement and smashed into a tree. Estes was apparently not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. She suffered fatal injuries. The CHP is still investigating the circumstance of the crash.
