Update: Crews Nearing Full Containment On The Wonder Fire

Containment of the Wonder Fire in the Mountain Gate area has improved to 60% after burning 162 acres of thick brush and timber. The fire started Monday afternoon off Wonderland Boulevard near the Calaveras Cement Plant. It spread over the railroad tracks and up and over the hill toward Lake Shasta, prompting an evacuation warning for Bridge Bay which has since been lifted. 150 personnel remain on scene working on mop up and reinforcing control lines in the steep and difficult terrain. All road closures have been lifted. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
