Update: Crews Respond To Numerous Fires After Lightning Storm

Another nearly 16,000 lightning strikes were recorded on Northern California forests over a 24 hour period through Wednesday afternoon, sparking another 11 fires in Klamath National Forest.
The Summit Fire in a previous burn scar in the Upper Wooley Creek Crainage is 20 acres.
The Caroline Fire south of Seiad and the Shanty Fire east of Grider Ridge are both around 2 acres.
There are many other fires in Siskiyou and Trinity Counties that have burned 2 acres or less.
Shasta-Trinity National Forest crews have responded to more than 28 fires this week. The two largest are:
The 200 acre Horse Fire near Schell Mountain 10 miles west of Lakehead.
The 15 acre Green Fire south of Chirpchatter Campground between Shasta Lake and Potem Falls.
Crews are working dozens of other fires and are positioned throughout the forest to respond quickly to new starts.
