The three crew members aboard a Redding-based helicopter that crashed in Sacramento on Monday have been identified by their employer, Reach Air Medical Services. The copter had delivered a patient to U.C. Davis Medical Center and had just taken off to return to Redding when it crashed on Highway 50. One of the crew was trapped beneath the wrecked aircraft and was rescued by about ten witnesses who rushed over from their cars and lifted the helicopter while the injured person was pulled out. Pilot Chad Millward and Flight Paramedic Margaret “Dede” Davis are both in critical but stable condition. Flight Nurse Suzie Smith is in critical but unstable condition.
