Crews are still cleaning up and assessing damage after an early morning fire completely destroyed the historic Bidwell Mansion in Chico Wednesday, leaving the community stunned and saddened. California State Parks Superintendent Matt Teague says they have not been able to access the interior of the building yet, but it is likely there is not much left to recover. The investigation into the cause is underway, and Chico Fire officials say arson is a possibility. The building will likely have to be brought down once the investigation is concluded.
