Update: School District Issues Statement After Substitute Teacher Is Arrested For Exposing Himself To Students

The Cascade Union Elementary School District, and officials from the Anderson Middle School have released a statement following allegations of a substitute teacher who reportedly pulled his pants down exposing himself to students on Tuesday. According to Anderson Police, the teacher, identified as 32-year-old Stephen Canciani of Connecticut, was taken into custody after turning himself in on Tuesday evening. The statement says that the district is very proud of the students who reported the incident to the Vice Principal of the school, who then removed Canciani from the classroom and notified police. The statement goes on to say that the district had no prior knowledge of any inappropriate behavior. Anderson Police say they believe that he may have worked at other schools in Shasta County and are asking anyone with information to give them a call. Canciani had apparently moved to Redding to attend the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.
