At Tuesday’s Shasta County Board of Supervisors meeting, the Good News Rescue Mission was awarded the $2.2 Million they asked for out of the opioid settlement funds coming to the county from pharmaceutical companies. The rescue mission has plans to break ground in the Spring on a 75 bed residential substance use disorder treatment facility. They’ve been awarded $17.8 Million from the state but they needed to put up matching funds of $2.2 Million. The vote to approve was unanimous.
