Update: Supervisors Vote Down Proposed $200 Million Behavioral Health Facility

Despite the support of most of the county’s leaders in medicine, mental health, law enforcement and the administration of government, the Shasta County Board of Supervisors voted 3 to 2 on Friday to withhold their support for a proposed behavioral health facility. It would be funded by $150 Million in state grant money and $50 Million from Signature Healthcare, the private company that would run it. The final decision by Signature Healthcare will be announced Tuesday.
