Update To Short Term Rental Ordinance Fails To Pass City Council

It’s been almost a year since several Redding residents petitioned the city council to change the ordinance pertaining to short-term rentals in the city to include updates to parking, density, and other restrictions they deemed necessary. An urgency ordinance has twice gone to the planning commission, and then been denied by the council because they couldn’t agree on the changes. Tuesday night was no different. The ordinance will be rewritten by staff, and then brought back for yet another vote on June 6th.
