Update: Traps Fail To Capture Pack Of Rogue Dogs In Shingletown

An update has been posted about a pack of dogs in the Shingletown area. The Shasta County Sheriff’s says the six remaining Wolf/Husky/Malamute hybrids in the Lake McCumber/Shanandoah drive area have not been attracted to traps because they’re not food motivated. The dogs return to their owner’s property from time to time, but they apparently can only be seized by authorities if they’re off the property, even though they’ve killed at least one neighbor’s family dog. Apparently there would need to be two attacks in 36 months to call them potentially dangerous, and they would still get another chance after that. The owner was cited last week for having stray unlicensed and unvaccinated dogs. He turned in one of the dogs, believed to be the Alpha of the pack.
