There’s a need for volunteers for the North Valley Stand Down. A lot of help is needed Tuesday through Saturday for the Stand Down, which gets underway at the Fairgrounds in Anderson on Thursday. The Stand Down is an effort to help veterans who are suffering from the effects of poverty and homelessness. Organizers offer a wide variety of free services and necessities to veterans in need. Tuesday is the big setup day. Volunteers are needed to move goods from the storage location to the Fairgrounds. Many boxes need to be moved and organizers don’t have the manpower or vehicles needed to do the job. There’s also a great need for volunteers to serve as security. They can call R.C. at 356-2923.
