Willows Extends Contract With Glenn County For Law Enforcement Services

The City of Willows is still waiting to have its own police force due to budget considerations. To that end, the city has extended its contract with the Glenn County Sheriffs Office for another two and a half years at an estimated cost of Five Million Dollars. The sheriffs office will have a deputy assigned within the city limits at all times. All services, including traffic, criminal investigations, and public records requests will also be performed by the county. In order to pay for the services, the city is considering raising it’s sales tax. Both the city, and the county agreed to the extension last month.
