Winter coats for children being collected by Shasta County Child Support Services, with help from Health and Human Services, Shasta Community Health Center and the United Way. They’ll be given away during a drive-through event on December 7th. New coats and jackets of all styles and sizes are needed, as well as monetary donations. After last year’s drive nearly 300 kids were given new coats. Donations can be dropped off through December 2nd at the Child Support Services Building, which is the former Montgomery Wards on Park Marina Drive, or at Health and Human Services Offices or at Golden Valley Bank on Hemsted Drive or at any Tri-Counties Bank Branch in Shasta County. The giveaway will take place December 7th at 9AM at the Civic Auditorium on a first-come/first-served basis. More information is available at 229-8707.
