Winter Weather Causes Pile-Up On Highway 89 Tuesday Afternoon

There was a heavy duty pile-up on an icy road in Eastern Shasta County Tuesday morning. The crash led to the closure of Highway 89 between Highway 44 and Highway 299. The collision happened about 2 miles north of Old Station and involved a Ford Mustang and no fewer than four big rigs. One of the trucks lost about 75 Gallons of Diesel but no injuries were reported. The highway was cleared of wreckage and reopened at 4:30PM Tuesday afternoon.
