Woman Accused Of Embezzling Funds From Youth Football Organization Appears In Court

A Weaverville woman has pleaded not guilty to embezzlement charges involving a youth football organization. Kimberly Deremer was in court last Thursday to answer to charges of grand theft by embezzlement. Deremer is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from the Trinity Junior Wolves while she was serving as their President. Her name does not currently appear on the Junior Wolves website. The new President of the organization says the Treasurer did not have access to the bank account until August, and then discovered that more than $20,000 was missing even though around $30,000 had been deposited throughout the course of the year.
