A crash partially blocked Highway 44 for hours Monday morning. Just before 6AM a big rig hauling a load of asphalt in a belly dump trailer overturned after colliding with a Chevy S-10 pickup truck near Eskimo Hill. A woman was trapped for a time and had to be extricated. She was taken away by helicopter with moderate injuries, while two other people had minor injuries. The westbound lane of the highway remained blocked for several hours as heavy duty equipment made it to the scene to upright the very heavy trailer.
