A 70-year-old woman was killed in a collision on Highway 299 along Cedar Pass in Modoc County on Friday evening. According to the CHP, 44-year-old Brian Boatman was driving westbound in a 2020 Chevy tow truck when the woman, driving a 2007 GMC Sierra, was driving eastbound. Boatman drifted off the road while negotiating a curve. He steered back onto the roadway, but lost control reportedly coming into the opposite lane and colliding with with the GMC causing major damage to both vehicles. Boatman sustained minor injuries, while the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
