Woman Who Punched CHP Officer During DUI Stop Sentenced

A woman arrested for DUI in Tehama County made things quite a bit worse for herself by refusing to cooperate. 30-year-old Ashley Stites was pulled over because a CHP Officer saw her weaving in and out of her lane. Once she stopped and the officer contacted her, the odor of alcohol was obvious. She refused to get out of the car and when the officer pulled her out she punched and slapped him multiple times. Another officer arrived to assist and Stites bit him and sunk her fingernails into him, drawing blood. Convicted of DUI and felony resisting, Stites has been sentenced to 4 months in county jail and 2 years probation.
