A house on the eastern edge of Redding was damaged by fire Wednesday morning. At 8:20AM, Cal-Fire/Shasta County Fire crews were joined by Redding, Cottonwood and Millville Firefighters at a house on Patricia Drive off Rancho Road. A pile of wood debris had caught fire in the backyard and flames spread to the garage, causing moderate damage. The home had apparently been vacant since the death of the resident, so the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
