An Oroville man has been sentenced for several years of sexual abuse committed against a young girl in Tehama County. 43-year-old James Edward Doughty was arrested in July of last year and reached a plea deal for a suspended sentence. He then violated probation by failing to show up at jail, complete his community service or pay his fine. Convicted of several forcible sexual assault charges, including continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age 14, Doughty has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison.
