Local residents who own their homes or pay a mortgage may be shocked to learn how much rent has increased. An online industry research publisher called “Construction Coverage” drew data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau. The report says the median monthly rent in Redding is $1,870 and the median rent for a 3 bedroom residence is $2,375. The median rent for all homes nationwide is $1,924 and California leads all other states at $2,895.
